Setting Up Village Services
New residents should contact the Village of Grayslake two weeks prior to moving to set up water, sewer, garbage, and recycling service. Calling two weeks prior to moving ensures that the bill for these services is placed in your name and, if necessary, allows ample time for the delivery of garbage and recycling containers to the property if needed.

Waste Management Services
The Village contracts with Waste Management, Inc. for refuse pick-up and recycling services. When you call the Village Hall to establish an account, you will be advised of your pick-up day.
Containers may be on the parkway only from 6:00 p.m. the night before pick-up until 6 p.m. the day of pick-up. The Village's contract provides for the pick-up of garbage deposited only in the automated cart. If you have additional garbage for pick-up, you may also contact Waste Management directly at 800-796-9696 and make arrangements with them for a special pick-up.
Waste Management will charge you a separate fee for any special pick-ups which are not included in the standard service provided by the Village contract. Also, contact Waste Management if you wish to request an additional garbage container.
