Grayslake, a non-home rule municipality, was incorporated in 1895 and is governed by a Village President (Mayor) and a board of six trustees. The Mayor and Trustees are elected at-large to four year, staggered terms. The Village employes a full-time Village Manager who directs the day to day activities of the Village and implements policies set forth by the Village Board.

The Village Clerk keeps minutes of all the meetings of the Village Board and is also responsible for the maintenance of all records, licenses, and permits of the Village. |
