Route 83 Corridor Streetscape Enhancement

The Route 83 Corridor study is intended to provide a framework for the physical and functional enhancement of the Route 83 corridor. This initiative is consistent with other enhancement initiatives currently underway in the Village, such as downtown streetscape enhancement and regional bike path planning/construction. The project area extends from Shorewood Road to the north, approximately Route 137 to the south and includes important connections to downtown and surrounding neighborhoods at Center Street, Lake Street, Washington Street and Route 120. The objective of this document is to illustrate unified corridor enhancement strategies and policies in order to guide new development, the improvement of the existing businesses and public right-of-ways.

Atkinson Road Corridor Concept Plan

The purpose of this plan is to provide a framework that encourages continued growth that blends with and enhances the existing businesses. This plan accomplishes those goals by establishing the streetscape, signage, employee amenities and architectural standards of a high end business park, recommending uses for undeveloped properties and potential redevelopment sites and describing how to achieve positive economic return within the Corridor.
