A message from Chief Larry Herzog:

Welcome to the Grayslake Police Department site.

The Grayslake Police Department has 33 sworn officers, two part-time officers, and five civilian employees.  We are proud to be one of the few agencies in Lake County that has been accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

The Grayslake Police Department serves the Village of Grayslake through our association with several Lake County interagency units, including the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT), the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG), and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS).  We have two officers certified to teach the DARE (Drug Awareness and Resistance Education) program to fifth grade students in the village and two School Resource Officers assigned full time to the Grayslake Community High School District, one at each campus.

Our mission is "To make people safe and to make people feel safe."  All the officers of the Grayslake Police Department are committed to working with the community to keep our village a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
