On Sunday, December 4 at 2 p.m., the Grayslake Historical Society will hold a special program in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and the beginning of World War II. The program will feature stories by World War II veterans from Grayslake, collected by Layton Plyman and former Grayslake Junior High School students as part of an oral history project. The interviews included stories about being a prisoner of war, serving in the U.S. Navy, guarding prisoners and being in charge of mess tents. The program is free.

Join the Grayslake Historical Society and local genealogists in the museum’s Archives on the first Wednesday of the month at 2 p.m. for a lively discussion on researching family history. Share your own stories or come for advice from other genealogists.

Be sure to visit the museum on Sunday, December 11 from 1-4 p.m. for the Grayslake Historical Society's annual Holiday Open House. Enjoy children's crafts and refreshments. The Warren High School Alumni Choir will perform at 2 p.m. and Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for photographs in the Historical Society's vintage sleigh from 2-4 p.m.
