  1. Grayslake Historical Society Annual Cemetery Walk

    October 5, All Day @ Grayslake Cemetery on Lake Street, north of Belvidere Road

    On Sunday, October 5, the Grayslake Historical Society will stage its annual Living History Tour of the Grayslake Cemetery. Tours begin at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. This year’s tour features seven World War I veterans or their relatives in honor of the centennial of the First World War.

  2. Grayslake Historical Society to Host Student Documentary Screening

    October 8, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum

    On Wednesday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. the Grayslake Historical Society will host Grayslake Through the Decades, a visual program created by students at Grayslake Central High School. Refreshments will follow the program. Free.

  3. Civil War Roundtable to Meet at Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum

    October 9, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum

    On Thursday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m., the Lake County Civil War Roundtable will present a program. The public is invited. Check back for updates on topics.

  4. World War I Exhibition Opens at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum

    October 11, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum

    Join us on Saturday, October 11 from noon-4 p.m. for the grand opening of the exhibition, Over There: Grayslake in World War I. Experience the stories of our local veterans of “The War to End all Wars,” and learn about the home front in Grayslake. The exhibition includes a recreated trench, audio clips of letters from actual local soldiers and World War I artifacts and images. Era appropriate refreshments will be served.

  5. Historian to Present Lecture about Camp Grant during World War I

    October 15, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum

    On Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m., author and historian Terry Dyer will discuss Camp Grant during World War I. Many of our local soldiers trained at Camp Grant or passed through there on their way home from the front.
